Math and Science

Preschoolers are avid explorers that are curious to find out through firsthand experience what things are like and how they work. Exploration, sorting and matching are ways young children construct their understanding of the physical and social world.  At the same time preschoolers’ concept of numbers emerges as they sort similar materials into groups and collections.

Our math and science classroom is an active learning center.  Children can empty, fill, touch, see, smell, classify, sort and explore many different sensory materials and objects.  With teacher directed activities, children learn about number concepts and the world around them daily.
