Preschool children use paints, markers and pencils to create their own images to stand for the mental images they have formed of the things they have seen and done.  Through drawing and painting children communicate what they understand about their world.

Our Creative Art and Academic Classroom is designed to support creativity and prepare children for kindergarten.  As the children enter this classroom they will experience a 10-20 teacher directed academic period.  Upon completing the academic work time the children are given time to explore materials and figure out how they work. The children are able to paint, cut, stamp, color, use clay, stickers and various natural materials.  During this time our teachers encourage children to experiment with art and fine motor materials without using adult made models allowing children to have control over their own creativity.
