Linda
Avila grew up in Pennsylvania, about 45 minutes
from Pittsburgh. She graduated from Bob Jones
University in Greenville, S.C., in 1984, with a
bachelor of science degree in elementary
education. She married John one week after
graduation. Her first classroom was a
combination Kindergarten, First-Grade, and
Second-Grade classroom in Stockton. Linda became
a stay-at-home mom when her son, Harrison
Michael, was born, in 1988. She returned to
teaching when Michael started Kindergarten. Mrs.
Avila started working at King’s Valley as a
long-term substitute teacher for second grade
back in 1996. Besides teaching first graders,
Mrs. Avila enjoys reading, and creating on a
Macintosh computer. She attends Valley Bible
Church in Hercules.
